What
is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is a Japanese name consisting
of 2 words Rei and Ki meaning spiritually guided life
energy (commonly known as Universal Life Energy), an energy
which animates us all and is found all around us. Reiki
is a form of spiritual healing using "universal life
energy" channeled through the practitioner to the
recipient. Reiki helps to harmonize body, mind and spirit
for yourself or anyone you want to help.
Your
Reiki Treatment
You relax, fully clothed, and either sitting in a chair
or laying on a massage table. A treatment can last a half
hour or hour, depending on the treatment required. There
is no pressure on the body making it ideal for treating
all ages and conditions, sometimes hands are even held
away from the body. The energy flows wherever it is required
(spiritually guided) and can normally be felt as a warm
sensation or tingling in the body. Receiving Reiki is
a very relaxing and soothing experience!
Reiki For Animals
Reiki is ideal for animals since the treatment
is gentle and stress-free for animals. Animals are much
more sensitive to the Reiki energy and will recognize
immediately that you are trying to help them. Reiki energy
can be sent to an animal and they are capable of taking
in as much as they need. There is a freedom of choice
for the animal to decide how much energy they want and
how close they want to be to the energy.
Reiki can be hands on or given at a distance from the
animal so as not to cause any stress. The treatment can
be adapted for any animal or situation, large or small.
Treatment generally lasts between 15-30 minutes depending
on the size of the animal and the problem being treated.
While
Reiki is generally used as a healing tool to feel better
and heal, it can also be used to ease the transition between
life and death for your animal. Reiki will not prevent
an animal from leaving this world if it is his time to
leave, but the Reiki can certainly help the quality of
his remaining time on Earth. Reiki can ease the transition
for both the animal and his person by alleviating the
pain and suffering, and helping to accept the coming transition
with a greater ease and understanding
